Samsung held on August 5 announced Previously, the Unpacked 2020 event, which featured the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 flexible screen smartphone, the Galaxy Tab S7 tablet, the Galaxy Watch 3 smartwatch and the Galaxy Buds Live wireless headphones. Most of the characteristics of the new gadgets were leaked on the Web before their official presentation.
Galaxy Note 20 и Note 20 Ultra
The Galaxy Note 20 has a 6.7-inch display with a resolution of 2400 * 1080 pixels and a refresh rate up to 60 Hz, while the Note 20 Ultra has a 6.9-inch screen with a resolution of 3200 * 1440 pixels with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The company has also adopted a new LTPO display technology that allows you to control the refresh rate of the screen and lower it if necessary to save energy. As with previous Galaxy Note, both smartphones have a built-in stylus.
The RAM of the devices is from 8 to 12 GB, and the built-in memory is from 128 to 512 GB. In the Note 20 Ultra, the memory can be expanded by using a microSD card. The battery capacities of the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are 4300 and 4500 mAh, respectively. Also, both models support 5G networks.
Both devices received 10MP selfies and a triple main camera. The Note 20 is equipped with a triple camera with a 64MP telephoto sensor and 3x optical zoom. At the same time, the resolution of the main and ultra-wide-angle cameras is 12 megapixels. The main camera of the Note 20 Ultra model combines a 108-megapixel module with optical stabilization and phase detection autofocus, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module and a 12-megapixel telephoto module. The camera has received 2x optical and 50x digital zoom.
The Note 20 and 20 Ultra are the first smartphones to support Microsoft’s xCloud gaming streaming service. Both devices received the Snapdragon 865+ processor for the US and some European countries. In Russia, they can be bought only in the version with the Exynos 990 processor, writes TJ.

Galaxy Z Fold 2
In addition to the Note 20 devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 smartphone was shown at the event, which is an updated version of the Galaxy Fold device with a flexible screen. The main difference between the novelty and its predecessor is that the smartphone received an external display with a diagonal of 6.2 inches (the first generation of the Fold was equipped with a 4.6-inch external screen). In addition, the smartphone received an updated camera unit – the same as that of the Note 20 Ultra.
In the new version, there is no longer a notch above the inner screen: instead, the device now has one small camera in the outer screen. Both screens have an AMOLED matrix and operate at 120 hertz. They receive energy from two batteries with a total capacity of 4500 mAh. Taking into account the shortcomings of the first generation model, engineers have modified both the folding screen design and the hinge mechanism. Thanks to this, when folded, there is a smaller gap between the parts of the smartphone, writes N+1.
Other characteristics, the timing of the appearance of this smartphone on sale and its cost in the company have not yet been disclosed.
