All hostages held in Le Havre by a “fighter for Palestinian rights” released

After midnight, the French television channel BFMTV reported that all the hostages held by an armed man at a bank branch in Le Havre had been released.

The special forces did not have to storm the building. The police negotiators managed to convince the criminal to let the people go and surrender.

On Thursday, August 6, at 4:45 pm, an armed man at the BRED branch took six people hostage, one of whom managed to escape almost immediately.

The offender voiced his demands through journalists: to release all Palestinian minors from Israeli prisons, as well as to open free access to all Palestinian Arabs under 40 years of age to the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.

Law enforcement agencies have identified the offender. Reportedly, he is 34 years old, suffers from mental problems, was convicted of illegal possession of weapons and illegal imprisonment of another person.
