On Saturday evening, August 8, the Israeli Ministry of Health presented new data on the coronavirus epidemic. Judging by the published official data, a total of 82,279 infected have been identified in the country since the beginning of the pandemic. At the moment, 24617 people are infected. 57,068 have recovered from the coronavirus. 592 patients died.

808 cases are in hospitals, the rest are ill at home or in specially equipped hotel rooms. The condition of 389 patients is assessed by doctors as serious, 106 of them are connected to ventilators. The condition of 167 patients is moderate, the rest of the disease is mild.

Israel’s test-to-population ratio is one of the highest in the world. Over the past day, 25279 tests have been carried out.

Most of the infected with coronavirus are currently in the following cities: Jerusalem (3697), Tel Aviv-Jaffa (1206), Bnei Brak (1981).

More than 77% of those infected are under the age of 50.

The age of the deceased: 19-100 years. Most of the deaths from COVID-19 are among the residents of Jerusalem and Bnei Brak.
