Jerusalem tram disruptions expected due to train drivers quarantined

On Sunday, August 9, it became known that one of the Jerusalem tram drivers had been diagnosed with a coronavirus infection. The drivers in contact with him were ordered to start a self-isolation regime.

The Citipas company, which is responsible for the operation of the light metro in the capital, reported that there was no threat of infection for passengers, since the drivers are in a separate cabin.

At the same time, the management of the company warned that due to the quarantine there was a shortage of drivers, and this will affect the tram schedule.

The company has already turned to the Ministry of Transport with a request to launch additional buses, duplicating tram routes, in the coming days.
