Festival of documentary films of the Turkic world is planned to be held in Uzbekistan in autumn

The festival of documentary films of the Turkic world is planned to be held in Tashkent on October 22-24, 2020, the press service of the Uzbekkino National Agency reports.

The event will be organized by the Federation of Journalists of the Turkic World in cooperation with the Foundation for Culture, Art and Cinema of the Turkic World.

The festival will bring together filmmakers from all over the Turkic world to meet, exchange ideas and views. Representatives of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Cyprus and some regions of Macedonia, Serbia and Hungary will come to the capital of Uzbekistan.

According to the information, the head of the Uzbekkino National Agency Firdavs Abdukhalikov became an honorary member of the Festival Council from Uzbekistan. Film director Rashid Malikov will be a member of the jury from Uzbekistan.

The aim of the festival is to support documentary filmmakers and contribute to the development and expansion of documentary filmmaking. Also among the tasks of the film forum are negotiations with film studios of the participating countries about the possibility of creating co-production and promoting cinema in Turkic countries.
