Prime Minister Sooronbai Jeenbekov believes that all the necessary conditions are being created in Kyrgyzstan for the export of products to foreign markets. He stated this today at the opening ceremony of the Issyk-Kul plant quarantine laboratory in the Tyup region.
According to him, the majority of Kyrgyzstanis live in rural areas and are involved in agriculture. Kyrgyzstan is an agricultural country, therefore, ensuring plant protection and food security is a very important task.
Today, the export of agricultural products to foreign markets is possible only if phytosanitary and veterinary laboratories are available. It has become a requirement of the times.
The Prime Minister noted that when Kyrgyzstan joined the EAEU, the republic took on a number of obligations, one of which is the presence of modern veterinary and phytosanitary laboratories in the country, in connection with which the government has been actively working in this direction since last year. He recalled that 1.5 million soms were allocated from the republican budget to strengthen phytosanitary control in 2015, 26.5 million in 2016, and 29.9 million soms in 2017.
According to the Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation Nurbek Murashev, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 5.9 million soms for the repair of the Issyk-Kul plant quarantine laboratory in the Tyup region, which began in 2016.
