Kyrgyz films will take part in the competitions of the International Film Festival in Bangladesh. This was reported by the Department of Cinematography of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to him, the XIV International Film Festival will take place on January 14-22 in the capital of Bangladesh – Dhaka. The slogan of the forum is “The best cinema, the best audience, the best community”. This forum is the most prestigious event in the Bangladesh film industry. He always gathers a large audience, strives to present the best world cinema to his viewers, opposes the cheap commercialization of the film industry, for the development of genuine, pure cinema in Bangladesh. In preparation for the forum, the organizers watched 170 films from 60 countries.
The festival has several programs: the main competition, the contests “Films of female directors”, “Children’s cinema”, “World cinema”, “Competition of short and independent films”, “Films of the Nordic countries” and “Spiritual films”. The international jury (including the Kyrgyz film critic Gulbara Tolomushova) will name the best film, director, actor, actress, screenwriter and cameraman.
In the main competition for the award, the film “Heavenly Nomad” directed by Mirlan Abdykalykov will compete. Full-length feature films, short films and documentaries from the Kyrgyz Republic will be presented in the competition of films of women directors: “Under the Heavens” by Dalmira Tilepbergenova, “Topurak” (“Earthly Dust”) Cholponay Borubaeva, “Taxi Driver” by Kymbat Adylbekova.
