The trial in the Batukaev case

Almazbek Atambayev was sent to the Bishkek City Court to consider the case of illegal release of Crimean tycoon Aziz Batukaev from prison. However, according to his lawyer, the process continued without Atambayev’s refusal to attend the trial. The criminal case on the illegal release of Krimtobol was re-investigated by the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in January last year and sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office in September to verify its legality. The trial took place in October 2019.
