Uzbekistan to impose transport lockdown on weekends

Tashkent, Aug. 7, 2020. / Kabar /. A transport lockdown will come into effect in Uzbekistan on weekends, Aug. 8 and 9, the press service of the republic’s Health Ministry reported.

Vehicles, including taxis, will be completely stopped on Saturday and Sunday.

Exceptions will be made for cars with stickers and those categories of cars, which are allowed to move without a sticker.

It is also allowed to travel by private car, but only in case of emergency medical care (pregnancy, childbirth, injury, HIV/AIDS, oncology, radiation therapy, hemodialysis, surgery, other life-threatening cases).

On these days, citizens are advised to stay in their homes and not to go out without reason.
