Kalın visits Hagia Sophia with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of 30 countries to Turkey

Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalın visited the Hagia Sophia Kebir Mosque with foreign ambassadors to Turkey.

Ibrahim Kalyn, who welcomed the ambassadors in the courtyard of the Hagia Sophia Kebir Mosque, visited the mosque with the ambassadors after informing the ambassadors about Hagia Sophia.

Ambassadors from some countries, including Palestinian Ambassador to Turkey Faed Mustafa, prayed at the mosque.

Kalyn briefed the ambassadors on the ongoing renovation of the upper floor of the mosque and the history of the mosque.

Ibrahim Kalın, who visited Hagia Sophia with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of 30 countries to Turkey, later made a statement to the press.

Kalın stressed the importance of Hagia Sophia’s conversion to the mosque after 86 years, and said that they had invited ambassadors to provide information about Hagia Sophia on the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdo taban.

Stressing that Hagia Sophia’s historic and cultural heritage will be preserved as well as a mosque, Kalyn gave dinner to the ambassadors at Topkapi Palace.
