Negotiations with SFD Vice Chairman

On August 6, 2020, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov held a videoconference with Vice Chairman of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Khalid Al-Khudairy, Uzbekistan MFA reports.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the state and prospects of strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and SFD.
It was noted that the financial resources of SFD in Uzbekistan are used in such socially significant projects as equipping educational and medical institutions, housing construction in rural areas, reconstruction of roads, improvement of water supply systems. To date, 4 projects worth $88 million have been implemented in Uzbekistan with participation of SFD, and 6 projects worth $86 million are under completion.
Khalid Al-Khudairy expressed interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation with Uzbekistan and within the framework of Arab Coordination Group, as well as in increasing funding of socio-economic projects in Uzbekistan.
During the talks, the parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
