Starting from the 2019 harvest, state procurement prices for wheat and cotton will be increased in Turkmenistan. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers G. Myradov at a government meeting reported on the implementation of the decision of the Khalk Maslakhaty (People’s Council) of Turkmenistan on revising upward government purchase prices for wheat and cotton, the State Information Agency of the country reports.
Specialists of the ministries of finance and economy, agriculture and water management, based on the analysis, prepared a list of tariffs for these crops.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree “On increasing state procurement prices for wheat and cotton.”
The document says that it was adopted “in order to implement the decisions made at the first meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan to improve reforms in the agricultural sector, as well as economic incentives for wheat and cotton producers.”
