The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Representative Office in Turkmenistan organized a two-day seminar by videoconference. The purpose of the seminar is to assist in the preparation of the next National Report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. About this reports tdh.gov.tm.
The forum was attended by representatives of ministries, government and public organizations that are part of the Working Group of Experts of the Interdepartmental Commission for Ensuring the Implementation of Turkmenistan’s International Commitments in the Field of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.
As noted, the protection of the rights and freedoms of the country’s youngest citizens is a priority of the socially oriented state policy. Thanks to the steps taken in Turkmenistan, all conditions are created for the full, harmonious development and education of the younger generation, the disclosure of their talents.
This year, our country will submit a regular periodic report to the Committee on the Rights of the Child, which will highlight the progress achieved in advancing the Children’s Rights Agenda in the context of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
In this regard, the importance of expanding interaction within the framework of the Country Program of Cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNICEF for 2021-2025 in key areas of ensuring the well-being of children, namely in management, health care, social protection, as well as quality inclusive education, was noted.
