A total of 252.7 million euros in aid was collected for Beirut at the “International Support for the People of Beirut and Lebanon” conference chaired by France and the United Nations.
A statement from the Elysee Palace said that € 252.7 million in aid had been raised for Beirut at a conference following the bombing in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
The leaders of the conference noted that “that assistance should be made public to the Lebanese people under the auspices of the United Nations.”
At the same time, the leaders stressed the importance of continuing the wide-ranging work on the blast.
A bomb blast near the Beirut port on August 4 has killed at least 158 people and injured more than 6,000 others.
