North China reports two plague deaths in the past few days

In the city of Bayan-Nur in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China, another person has died from the plague. It is reported by TASS with reference to the Regional Committee for Hygiene and Health.

The city introduced an increased (3rd) level of response to an epidemiological hazard until the end of 2020.

On August 6, the administration of Inner Mongolia announced the death of one person in the city of Baotou from intestinal plague. In order to prevent the spread of the disease, doctors isolated several dozen residents who had contact with the infected.

Epidemiological control bodies from time to time record cases of plague in the steppe zone in the north of the PRC, as well as in neighboring Mongolia. Often, infection occurs after eating rodent meat, which is extremely dangerous, since they are often carriers of infection.
