The athlete who played for the national team of the Kyrgyz Republic is wanted for terrorism

In Ingushetia, in the course of a counter-terrorist operation, two militants who were preparing terrorist acts in the republic were liquidated. Initially, Russian media reported that one of them was Muslim Yevloyev, a 25-year-old native of Ingushetia, who had previously played for the Kyrgyz national wrestling team.

However, as TASS later clarified, this information was not confirmed. A relative of Evloyev was killed, and he himself managed to escape.

According to the National Anti-Terrorism Committee of the Russian Federation, the operation was carried out in Nazran and in the village of Sagopsha, Malgobek district. The militants, according to the information received, were in private homes. In order to prevent the commission of terrorist acts and to ensure the safety of citizens, the head of the republican Directorate of the FSB of Russia made a decision to conduct a counter-terrorist operation and introduce an appropriate legal regime.

During the operation, the territory adjacent to these houses was cordoned off. The militants were asked to lay down their arms and surrender to the authorities. In response, they opened fire on law enforcement officers. During a short skirmish, two of those who resisted were neutralized, one more was detained. The counter-terrorist operation regime operated from the evening of August 6th until the morning of August 7th.

Muslim Yevloyev began playing for the Kyrgyz national wrestling team since 2015. During this time, he won the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku and the Yashor Dogu international tournament. In addition, he has a silver medal at the 2017 Asian Championships in India. Yevloyev also won the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Wrestling Championships in Bishkek. He competed in the weight category up to 74 kg and won four victories in a row.
