A written statement from the Foreign Ministry said that a passenger plane en route to Dubai-Kozhikode crashed while preparing to land at the airport.
“We are sorry for the loss of the Indian Airlines flight to Dubai-Kozhikode while preparing to land, and for the deaths and injuries of the victims,” the statement said.
“We extend our condolences to the people and government of India and the families of those killed in the tragedy and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” the statement said.
