On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of partial mobilization. This law prescribes to call for service 300,000 servicemen who are in the reserve and have the necessary military specialty. Economist Georgy Ostapkovich said whether the country is ready for such a turn of events.
According to Slovo i Delo, according to the expert, from the point of view of the economy, Russia is absolutely ready for such a scenario. New budgets were created already taking into account such a turn of events. Therefore, the creation of an additional contingent for the Ukrainian conflict should not have a negative impact on the well-being of the Russian population.
However, problems can still arise. This will happen if Western countries continue to impose sanctions pressure by introducing new restrictions. True, such a step should not bring big trouble, given that the country has long learned to adapt to the imposed bans.
