Russia Moves to Send Central Asians to War What About Others?

Kirill Kabanov, a member of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights under the President of Russia, informed that proposals will be developed for the “new citizens” of the country – citizens of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. According to it, they have a year of compulsory military service they pass.

According to him, refusal to perform military service should lead to the deprivation of Russian citizenship not only of the person who is forced to do military service, but also of his family.

Kabanov added that this proposal is a response to the fact that the governments of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have officially banned their citizens from participating in the special operation as volunteers.

Starting from September 21, partial mobilization was declared in Russia, the head of state Vladimir Putin signed the corresponding decree. According to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, 300,000 reservists will be called up, and they will undergo combat training before being sent to a special military operation zone.

It is interesting to note that the power of “member of the human rights development council” has reached only Central Asians. The proposal does not say anything about those who have received Russian citizenship from other countries.
