President of the Russian Psychological Society Yuri Zinchenko spoke about these plans when he made a presentation at UrFU during the All-Russian Psychological Forum. The dean of the Faculty of Psychology at Moscow State University noted that the issue of helping the population in the field of psychology arose during the coronavirus pandemic. Now it is no less relevant. Many citizens, including those taking part in the special operation, will need expert advice. A wide network of psychological assistance has been created in the Russian Federation through the Ministry of Health, but there will also be additional centers that will open in all regions of Russia. Not only military personnel, but also civilians, including children, will be able to apply there.

In the coming days, specialists during the congress will develop methods for providing psychological assistance. As part of this work, it has already been determined that there is a shortage of qualified personnel. In this regard, universities will urgently begin to train young psychologists. In addition, they will launch a retraining program for specialists whose skills no longer meet modern requirements.
At the moment, the launch of a pilot center for psychological assistance for participants in the special operation is being prepared. It is organized on the basis of the Faculty of Psychology at UrFU. They will provide both planned assistance and emergency assistance by appointment if a critical situation has occurred in a person’s life.
