A swindler who betrothed a 21-year-old girl to a relative in Uzbekistan and then extorted money from her godfather was arrested in Astana. About this Kazinform reported.
It was noted that the police of the capital of Kazakhstan, in cooperation with the CIS countries, held a large-scale “Search” event on March 15-16. On the first day of the event, 8 criminals were identified and arrested in Astana. The whereabouts of 3 missing citizens have been determined.
One of the two foreign nationals who was searched interstate and detained is a woman from Uzbekistan.
“The identity of the 23-year-old Uzbek girl, who is wanted internationally, has been determined. He engaged the 21-year-old girl to his relative, and then took her from her home. Later, he demanded money from his godson by blackmail,” the police report said.
In addition, a 42-year-old Uzbek citizen has been living in the capital as a fraudster. He embezzled 1 million 400 thousand soums by promising to employ one person in the city of Samarkand.
Currently, both suspects are in temporary custody. The issue of their extradition is being resolved.
