Bishkek to host Chingiz Aitmatov Cinema Week “About Cinema”

Bishkek will host a film week of films based on the works of People’s Writer of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aitmatov. This was announced by its organizers.

According to them, the screening will take place at the Kyrgyz Kinosu cinema. The week will open on December 3 at 11.30 with the film “White Steamer” (1976) directed by Bolotbek Shamshiev. Then a discussion will take place, in which Askar Aitmatov, Bolotbek Shamshiev, Manas Musaev, Nurtai Borbiev, director of the Kyrgyzfilm film studio Gulmira Kerimova, Ernest Abdyzhaparov, Emil Boronchiev, Aibek Daiyrbekov and others will take part.

On December 4 at 10.00, 12.30 (on other days the time is the same), viewers will be able to watch “The Race of the Pacing” (1968) by Sergei Urusevsky; December 5 “Red Apple” (1975) by Tolomush Okeev; December 6 – “White Steamer”; December 7 – “The First Teacher” (1965) by Mikhalkov-Konchalovsky; December 8 – “Early Cranes” (1979) by Bolotbek Shamshiev; December 9 – “Jamilya” (1969) by Irina Poplavskaya.
