Prisoners who escaped from Uzbekistan detained in Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyz border guards helped Uzbekistan detain two prisoners who escaped from prison and tried to leave the country. This was reported on August 5 at the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the official report, the fugitives were detained by Kyrgyz border guards while trying to cross the border and were handed over to Uzbek law enforcement agencies.

The incident took place in the Bel-Sogot area of ​​the Aksy district of the Jalal-Abad region of the Kyrgyz Republic during an attempt to illegally cross the state border. Two Uzbek citizens aged 24 and 29 were detained during a joint operation between Kyrgyz border guards and the Uzbek Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Earlier, the Uzbek side warned Kyrgyzstan that two prisoners had escaped from a prison in the Zangiata district of the Tashkent region.
