Kyrgyzstan reconstructs four checkpoints on the border with Kazakhstan “Central Asia”

Kyrgyzstan has reconstructed several checkpoints on the border with Kazakhstan.

According to the Department of Public Relations and Media of the State Border Service, today its chairman Ularbek Sharsheev met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Kyrgyz Republic Karim Kokrekbaev.

The parties discussed improving the infrastructure of checkpoints and bringing them to international standards as part of the integration of the Kyrgyz Republic into the EAEU.

The head of the border department said that the Kyrgyz side carried out the reconstruction of four road points: Tokmak, Ken-Bulun, Ak-Tilek and Chaldybar.

The competent authorities of the two states are considering changing the status of the Ken-Bulun and Tokmak automobile checkpoints from bilateral to international. The Kyrgyz side also proposes to introduce year-round operation of the Karkyra-Avtodorozhniy checkpoint, which is currently operating from May to October.
