A solemn event was held for the next dispatch of 71 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between the authorized state bodies for sending and receiving labor to the Republic of Korea. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the press service, more than 450 contracts were received for the last stream. Now the first group is leaving – the rest are preparing for subsequent shipments.
“This year, more than 500 citizens have already flown to the Republic of Korea – for this purpose, a charter flight was organized on the route Bishkek – Incheon.
As a result of the activities carried out by the Center to popularize the Kyrgyz Republic and its labor resources, the number of contracts received, as well as the number of those who left for the Republic of Korea, doubled.
Also, as a result of the visit and fruitful meetings with the President of HRD Korea, Mr. Woo So Bong, it was decided:
– about re-conducting the test for knowledge of the Korean language in October 2022 (this test is conducted once a year in the month of May), so citizens got another opportunity to take the test and get into the database of the Ministry of Labor of Korea;
– for the first time, 40 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic were given the opportunity to be selected as a welder and be employed this year. This selection is conducted for the first time among 16 countries, and the Kyrgyz Republic is selected as a pilot project.
Within the framework of this EPS program, for 15 years, the Center for Employment of Citizens Abroad has been working and successfully employing citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic at enterprises of the Republic of Korea. Over 5,000 citizens were successfully employed during the period of the memorandum. Currently, about 1.5 thousand citizens work in the Republic of Korea under the EPS program. Of the total number of people who left for work, most of them work at enterprises in the food, chemical and paper industries; in the manufacture of plastic, rubber and glass products.
The average salary of labor migrants working in the Republic of Korea is about 1,800 US dollars, taking into account the fact that accommodation and meals are paid by the employer.
The main requirement of the program is knowledge of the Korean language at the proper level. In 2022, more than 1,500 citizens participated in the Korean language proficiency test – 360 people successfully passed the test, who got the opportunity to be selected by employers in the Republic of Korea.
