The death toll from floods in Sudan continues to rise

A statement from the Sudanese Interior Ministry said that the death toll from floods in the country due to torrential rains since August 1 had risen to 93.

The floods were reported to have injured 43 people, damaged roads and killed more than 5,000 cattle.

The heavy rains, which lasted for four days in the country’s capital, Khartoum, and in various provinces, have caused rising levels of water in the Nile River, which has damaged thousands of homes.

The Sudanese Meteorological Agency has warned that the rains will continue tomorrow, especially for those living near water canals.
