Tonight, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived on a two-day official visit to Qatar, the electronic version of the Turkmenistan newspaper reports.
The presidential airliner landed at Hamad International Airport in Doha. On this significant occasion, the State flags of the two countries were raised and a guard of honor was lined up.
The head of Turkmenistan was met by official representatives of the State of Qatar, as well as members of the Turkmen delegation.
According to the program of the visit, on March 20, negotiations will be held between the President of Turkmenistan and the Emir of the State of Qatar. Based on their results, the signing of bilateral documents aimed at strengthening the legal framework of the Turkmen-Qatari cooperation is expected.
It is planned that the heads of state will also take part in the opening ceremony of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the State of Qatar in Doha.
Diplomatic relations between the two Turkmenistan and Qatar were established on November 22, 1996.
