Minister Beishenaliev does not complain about detention conditions – National Center for Torture Prevention
AKIPRESS.COM – The employees of the National Center for Torture Prevention visited Minister of Education and Science Almazbek Beishenaliev in the temporary detention facility.
29 people were held in the detention facility by the moment of visit, 4 women among them.
“The representatives of the National Center for Torture Prevention met with Minister of Education and Science Almazbek Beishenaliev. According to media reports, he is suspected of taking a bribe. During a personal conversation, Almazbek Beishenaliev said he was allowed to use medicines he had with him, since he has asthma,” the Center said.
No complaints were received about use of torture or cruel treatment.
Almazbek Beishenaliev was detained in the evening of September 28 when taking a part of $110,000 bribe for enrollment of foreign students in local universities.
Investigation is ongoing.
