September 24, 622 Prophet Muhammad completed his Hijra – Journey from Mecca to Medina. Subsequently, the Hijra year became the first year of the Muslim calendar, and from that moment the history of Islam begins.
The period of 610-622 is the beginning of the sermons of the Prophet Muhammad in Mecca. For several years, the merchant Mecca, which had seen a lot, treated him rather indifferently. However, when Muhammad declared the Meccans impious, they boycotted Muhammad.
Fleeing, Muhammad made a migration – hijra – to Medina, one of the largest agricultural oases in Arabia, where he arrived on September 24, 622. Accompanied by hundreds of Muhajir followers, he rallied the divided Arabs around him and turned them into a single people.
It is believed that it is timed to the end of the Hijra international caravan day, celebrated annually on 24 September. It is celebrated by caravan leaders and other participants in transport columns and ship caravans, truckers, crews of merchant ships and crews of escort ships.
According to another version, the birthday of the famous British navigator and navigator of the 16th and 17th centuries, William Adams, was chosen as the date of the holiday. He is considered the first European to reach the shores of Japan.
The most famous caravan route was the Great Silk Road, which connected China with the countries of Central Asia and has been known since the 2nd century BC.
Today World Maritime Day. Its goal is to draw public attention to the irreparable damage to the seas and oceans caused by overfishing, water pollution and global warming. The most important tasks are to improve the environmental safety of maritime transport, prevent pollution of the marine environment, in particular by oil, preserve bioresources and combat poaching.
According to the UN, over the past 100 years, fish species such as tuna, cod, marlin have been caught by 90%. About 21 million barrels of oil are poured into the seas and oceans every year. Synthetic waste dumped into large bodies of water kills one million seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals a year. Due to global warming over the past 100 years, the water level in large reservoirs of the planet has risen by 10-25 centimeters.

In Barcelona on September 24, 1957 The Camp Nou stadium was opened. The stadium owes its appearance to the tough confrontation between two football clubs – Barcelona and Real Madrid. Real Madrid built a new stadium, the Estadio Chamartín (now the Santiago Bernabéu). Barcelona’s home stadium was the old Camp de Les Court, which no longer accommodated everyone. It was then that Francesc Miro-Sans, who at that time was the president of Barcelona, came up with a proposal to build a new stadium.
The new stadium was named Estadi del FC Barcelona (FC Barcelona Stadium), but the fans simply called it Camp Nou, and in 2001 the authorities decided to make it official.
Today, it can accommodate 99,354 spectators and is the largest stadium in terms of capacity not only in Spain, but throughout Europe. It is still the home stadium of Barcelona. In 1984, the club’s museum was opened at the stadium, which immediately became a place of pilgrimage for football fans from all over the world.
